“We were very happy with the advice we received from the Mauritius Holidays Direct staff member Ajay particularly with regard to which was the best hotel and which airline to choose. We stayed at the Maradiva Villa Resort which was excellent and considered to be the best hotel on Mauritius. All the accommodation is contained in separate villas each with its own pool. The restaurants are also very good especially the Japanese one where Chef Kelly creates your chosen meal in front of you to the highest quality. The grounds are beautifully maintained by a large team of gardeners looking after a massive range of trees and flowers it's almost like staying in a jungle setting. The staff are extremely polite and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Ajay also suggested flying from Gatwick via British Airways as they fly direct to Mauritius. Many other airlines fly via the Emirates which, of course, introduces a minimum of 3-4 hrs delay. Air Mauritius also offers a direct flight from Gatwick. We were met at the Mauritius airport by a dedicated taxi service which took us straight to the hotel. They also provided trips out to various parts of the island in our own taxi. The drivers were particularly attentive and provided a lot of useful information with regard to sights that we stopped at. They also choose a good quality restaurant for lunches etc. when out on a trip. We had a personal taxi take us back to the airport for our return flight. A member of their staff was waiting as we arrived and took us right through to the check-in desk and ensured it was a smooth process and directed us to the security gate. These small touches make you feel very special! All in all we couldn't have asked for, and received, a better holiday. I can thoroughly recommend Mauritius Direct Holidays if you are considering taking a holiday in Mauritius.”
